Additional Categories of Desktop Computers, Notebooks Require China Energy Label In China

The legalization body, General Administration of Quality Supervision , Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China and the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China has announced Notification G/TBT/N/CHN/834 ( published on 10 OCT 2011 )  and the microcomputer Energy efficiency labeling rules based on the standard , GB 28380- 2012 Minimum Allowable Values of Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Grades for microcomputers ( circulated on 11, MAY 2012 / Implement on 1,SEP 2012). It covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable):
(ICS: 27.010;HS: 8470)
– Desktop computers
– Integrated desktop computers with display
– Notebook computers

Waiver:
Work-station and Industrial Personal Computers (IPC), microcomputers equipped with two or more discrete GPUs ,  microcomputers with a rated power supply exceeding 750W , Laptops and AIO whose display screen’s diagonal is less than 0.2946m (11.6 inches)

Entry into force:
Description of content:  Article 3.3 of this Standard is mandatory ( the mandatory content is the limit value of energy efficiency). The rest are recommended.

FEB- 01 -2014 ( for those product circulated on the market should fulfill the requirements)

Other information :
Under the provisions of the Notification G/TBT/N/CHN/834, it promulgated for those products which do not comply with the energy efficiency of limited value will not be allowed to enter the market. Its purpose to prevent inefficient products to enter the market and the state eliminated the basis of high-energy-consuming products.
According to China’s energy efficiency regulation Article 3.3, the limit value of energy efficiency should be no less than level 3.
