The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a body consisting of six Arabs countries – the State of United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, The Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman. The G-Mark for Low-Voltage Electrical products is regulated by the Gulf Technical Regulation for Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances (BD-142004-01). All low-voltage electrical products being brought into and available in the Gulf States marketplace after July 1st, 2016 must have the G-Mark certification.
The technical regulations for low-voltage electrical products will consist of two lists; List 1 and List 2 products. Products that fall under the above lists will need mandatory G-Mark certification. List 1 products will follow a self-declaration conformity assessment procedure while List 2 products follow a conformity assessment procedures requiring a Notified Body (NB) in order to obtain a Gulf Type Examination Certificate.
