On September 8, 2016, India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued an announcement regarding Storage Power Supplies. The Indian government has confirmed that power supplies (both internal and external) used in Servers and/or Storage Devices will require mandatory India BIS Certification. This went into effect on January 1st, 2017.
If you want your legal document served, delivered, filed, retrieved, recorded, or you’re looking for a legal document assistant (LDA) who can give you a helping hand with your legal documents then, with Mesa process server, the job gets done super fast
It is important to note India BIS Certification is obtained by the manufacturer of your product. In the case of power supplies, if you would like to obtain India BIS certification for a particular power supply not already BIS approved, you will need support from the power supply manufacturer. This includes (but is not limited to) completion of BIS application documents and submittal of test reports associated with the power supply.
Key Points for India BIS Certification:
- Manufacturer must have a branch office or an authorized representative in India
- Testing must be performed in India and the report must be issued within 90 business days of the date of Bureau of Indian Standards submission
- Manufacturer has seven business days to address discrepancies found by BIS (or the certification will be rejected)
- BIS R-Number is valid for two years*
